1980 . Currently in the process of replacing my front diff bushing . I was able to get the bottom half out (what was left of it ) but I can not find room to get the top one out . Any help would be greatly appreciated .
Do you need to take the whole bracket loose from the diff housing to get enough room? Two bolts on either side, if i remember correctly. Guessing from memory as I haven't looked at it in a while and my AIM is at home.

I just changed my on my '79 and did not have to remove the whole bracket. It takes a little patience. I removed the bolt and the bushing together.
There was nothing left of my either and this made a huge difference in the squat when I put it into drive and reduced the rattles significantly.
I just did mine about 2 months ago (didn't use lock tite but a very good idea) and I loosened the two bolts and used slight pressure on a pry bar. It was not an easy job for me to get the new one in but with patience you'll be successful.

I think the OP is referring to the snubber bushing assembly.

Thats the unit . What I seem to be having trouble with is that there does not seem to be enough room to get it out and when a put a pry bar and pull down on the diff the drive shaft yoke also drops trapping it in the cross member support . Now I do have the car propped up on the tires as well so I can't rotate the drive shaft to a different position ,would being able to rotate the drive shaft help .
i just did my '72 late last month
i had car over a pit and just placed a jack under diff mount and jacked it up a little bit
that gave enough room to get the top rubber and bolt in passed the drive shaft
then levered down slightly to get the bottom rubber mount in
helps to have long thin fingers and be able to work by feel
I use my floor jack to release the tension from the rear leaf spring. Then after that removing the bolts and brackets to replace the 2 snubbers is very easy. I've done it about 4 times in the past 37 years that I owned the vett.

The 80 does not have a removable bracket on diff , it is part of the diff . I do agree on the earlier c3 being able to loosen the mount would probably make it a lot easier . When I was trying to get it out i also had my wheels propped up so I could not rotate the drive shaft . I am also putting new u-joints in the half shafts . I hope to get back at the bushing this week .
