After destroying my original power antenna, I have finally gotten around to looking for a new one. I do not want one of those hardara's that Eckler's sells... they do not look like the original (visible part of antenna on top of rear panel).

Now that I have waited this long, Eckler's no longer sells original style power antennas. Anyone know where to get an original style power antenna for a '79 w/o CB?

I've heard that a few F bodies used the same antenna... wonder if any of the F body parts catalogs have them???

Mid America and Corvette Centeral both offer AC Delco or reproduction antannas.
The Mid America Delco is # 601-176 at $139.99 (Phone: (800) 500-8388)

The Corvette Centeral GM replacement is # 163100 at $128.95 Phone: (800) 345-4122.

Ive had excelent service from both companies.

Dude, any corvette parts dealer has a AC Delco NOS one. They're everywhere for 100.00. Ebay always has some too......might find a deal. Got one for my birthday last september!!!! what a great birthday present, huh.!!!!!!!!!

Try the Last Detail in Atlanta, Ga. They had NOS Delco antenna's for
about $95. The replacement AC-Delco antenna's are different than
the original, in that the tip of the mast and the nut that secures the
antenna are not flush with the fender.

since they no longer made one that is flush with the fender, i went with a $40 unit from Wal-mart. works fine and probably came from the same country the GM unit is coming from (China). anyway, don't tell the purists. I believe the ones you buy now have the relay built into the unit,so you can bypass the relay under the console. i left the original relay there, in case I find a working original antenna later.

Zip has them... paid out the wazoo for it, but heck, they are a cf supporting vendor.
