Default Looking for a X pipe dual exhaust system for a 77

Here is what I have found close to what I am looking for in a complete kit.
http://www.parts123.com/parts123/yb....5Z5Z50000050Q#

I am looking for headers to an X pipe to dual pipes to the mufflers that come in a kit. Does anyone know of a good place to buy a bolt in system, or if what I found is the best option with getting an X pipe and working it into this. Or is the X pipe not going to make a difference?

Just seeing what everyone else has ran and what seems to be the best option.

Thanks

I know one setup that has been used is Flowtech BIG-31106FLT headers to Hedman HED-18804 pipes to SUM-642125 X Pipe, all from Summit. Then you need some 45's and some straight pipe to go to mufflers.

With a quality set of headers... I would not think that a X pipe would do much more than equalize the exhaust sound..My 77 has custom bent tubing with the Walker band clamps from a local Exhaust Shop....spent around $200.00 . Plus the cost of the mufflers....

Magnaflow 16710. Should look similar to the 16842 system without the front pipes. Shop around and you can buy it for a lot less than MSRP.

I made some calls around and it seems MUCH cheaper to buy a decent set of headers, install them, rip out all the old exhaust, and then take it to a local muffler shop and have them do it all custom. Not to mention it will all be welded and I will not have to spend hours making a "made to fit" system actually fit. I do really appreciate all the advice and am looking at the options for the mufflers. Liking the Magnaflows so far.

That is pretty close to what I did for my exhaust. I started with mandrel bends from Summit, eBay, etc. and cut and welded them to get a custom fit. Here is the link to my post with pictures.

My home made mandrel bent exhaust with X-pipe and Magnaflow mufflers.

I bought the complete stainless big block 2-1/2 inch magnaflow system with x pipe for $495 shipped on ebay. From the crossmember back it would be the same for bb or sb. I cut up the head pipes to to fabricate header connections. This item also comes with all stainless clamps and hangers and is all mandrel bent.
