need horn button parts drawing for 1977 tele
Gents, looking for some help please. Just bought a 77 and the horn button and pieces are in a ziplock. Looks like one of the three plastic rivets is missing...but also the spring, contact, and small black piece are in the bag. Can anyone point me to a drawing that shows all the pieces and how they fit together. The steering wheel and all is assembled and works... just horn button not installed. I checked all the parts vendor sights and the drawings are all too general...don't show detail on the spring and contact for example. The guy I bought it from said locksmith, when taking out broken key, broke something plastic and inexpensive....thought he said a cover, could be the rivet though, ...and if so after buying a new set of rivets I may have all I need. Thanks for your help.

Do you have a straight column, or a tilt/tele one? The horn parts differ between the 2 columns.
If it's a tilt/tele, it was probably the Horn Contact Retainer that broke. This is a round white nylon piece, that has 5 flat, square, "fingers" spaced around it. With age, the nylon gets brittle and they far apart. There is a repro available in plastic, for about $8.00.
If one of the plastic rivets in the contact are broken, you'll probably need to replace it also.
I'll check to see what illustrations I may have, but even the GM Parts Book illustrations, are kind of vague. I don't recall if the parts book "green pages" illustration, even shows the Horn Contact Retainer!

Willcox, I think I have found my problem. Plastic revits are all that is missing or broken. Would you happen to have a close up photo of the assembled horn button stand? There is an isolator and I want to make sure it is in correct position before I assemble with new revits. Does your company sell the revits kit? Also need a set of three mounting screws. Thanks again.

Here is the retainer that is required to keep the c-clip in place and also insulates the big telescope spring from grounding on metal parts inside the steering column housing.
Here is a blowup from the AIM on a 1977 thru 1982 telescoping steering column, steering wheel, telescope and horn parts.

thanks Willcox for amazing quick reply...again. I will call tomorrow to order rivets and screws. Will also check back to forum for your validation of the stack order.
Jim thanks for your illustration too. Luckily I have not had to disassemble that far yet.

Correct... The bottom plate, the insulator, then the horn button retainer and then the upper eared plate.
