Can you provide a picture that is a little further back?
I see 2 potential issues-
Is the cross member adapter piece for the trans mount bolted solidly to the cross member not only with the side bolt (is this the pivot you were mentioning?) but there should be 2 through bolts from top to bottom that keeps this piece level, it should NOT be allowed to pivot down!
Also, it's had to tell but it appears your trans mount has perhaps collapsed- It seem to recall my mount being taller than what I see in your picture.

The old mount was about 1/4 shorter than the new one I put in..... And yes... The the pivot is that adapter piece... There is only side bolts in it and it will move up and down.... I knew it had to be something else...

Oh yeah, that's your issue!
Replace that old nasty mount and make sure you have that mount piece bolted up tight to that cross member- It should not move!
Going on memory, I think you need like two 3/8-16 bolts with some flat and lock washers since I think that piece has slotted holes in it.

The vertical bracket ignore- That was the piece that held the old Muncie shift linkage and has been removed on your car.
Note the adapter piece and that it has 2 bolts coming down from the top (you can only see the one in this pic, the other bracket is covering the other).
I believe this is what you are missing.
If you look from under the crossmember itself, you will see 2 holes in the bottom where these bolts come through and you will see the crossmember holes are slotted if you look up inside the crossmember- That is why you will need the flat washers.
Hope this helps!
