I use the polygraphite bushings. Yeah you feel the road a bit more, but they handle better and that's what it's all about.

You don't lubricate polygraphite. They self lube and after ~500 miles the polygraphite don't squeek. But for those first 500 miles they squeek like the dickens.

Poly were crumbs. dont know what brand but there was nothing left very dangerous to drive.

I've had polys for 3 years and 4000 miles. I lubed them, etc and the squeaking is just plain embarrassing! I'm installing rubber this spring!!

I just updated everything on the rear and I went with rubber but I had a hard time finding rubber bushings for the differential carrier. I had to go poly with those. My car is an 81 as well.
