Back in '95 I paid 350 bux for a complete TPI at a Carlisle car show, did the junkyard routine for computer and wiring harness connectors, did my own harness, tuning chip was 150 bux or so....with new fuel pump and filter, it was on the car and running for like 750 bux total....

changed induction several times, it's now a LT1 intake on the L98 engine, and same essential wiring....

How detailed a breakdown do you want of all the kibbles and bits?

That is perfect. Thanks!

I've always liked TPI as I had two 3rd Gen's with it. If you're going for drivability only, what kind of MPG and HP are you expecting? Or are you staying within in stock limits?

PO set my car up to be quite the little off the line rocket, which I enjoy, but it sucks on a cruise, especially with the 3 speed. And LS1 swaps are way more than I want to do at this stage in my life, but TPI with a 700R4 is appealing.

I don't expect much of a change in HP, I haven't touched the engine.
Mileage, I'd like to see 20mpg, I'll know more once it's tuned.
Drive-ability is one of the main factors for choosing EFI.

Hi Moonsteel,
I mounted it behind the glove pocket lower dash panel.
I winds around my Classic Auto Air panel and heater-A/C box. Here's some pics

Panel off viewing from the firewall looking towards the back of the car. The harness is insulated from the heater hose line.

Panel on:

Interior passenger side looking towards the front of the car. This is where the connector to the ecu comes out.

Couple of different angles:

Just self-tapping screws. It's still not attached b/c I'm right in the middle of the project. But I have had it mounted when making preparations for the final placement.

Small update, fuel lines installed and the fuel tank is back in the car.
Two of the AN fittings were not machined correctly, so I can't finish installing the lines

I did install the injectors (ordered new ones) and put the tubes on.

Took the exhaust down to Midas and got the bung welded in

Now that the fuel tank is back in, I'm focusing on the engine bay, lots of wires/hoses/sensors etc.
Progress so far:

Been since 2003 since I had my IROC and fiddled with TPI. But I do recall speed density in 91-92. Did the HP ECU take care of that for you? Or are you modifying the plemun.

HP comes with a GM MAP sensor, just plan to use one of the existing vacuum ports to get the signal.
