Nothing called "authentic" dash cover, a dash cover is a dash cover, and believe me, it WILL appear as a dash cover (if you know what I mean). The best thing to do is either fixing the cracks with some plastic welding tools, or better yet, replacing the whole thing.
Willcox is my favorite Corvette parts supplier, very good quality parts and very knowledgeable staff.
BTW, I just fixed some cracks on a old dashboard I have laying around and sprayed it with few coats of SEMs plastic dye, it came out real good.

Best place would be the vendor you like best. Best quality would be your choice. Best of both worlds is top notch stuff from your favorite vendor.

We have both Corvette America and Al Knoch covers on our site. But I have to give the nod to CA on the seat foam since they upgraded this product a while back. The foam is as close to original as you will find anywhere. The density is per GM specs (IDF and PCF). Here is a paper that will explain this in more detail.

Uhhh...."too thick" for what it should be, or "too thick" for what it was before the redo?
Lots of folks notice a big difference. Much of that change is that there is now some foam in the seatcover channels!

I've never recovered seats, but I have heard plenty of folks say that the new seat foam can make the seat seem "overstuffed", because you are used to the old seat foam, which becomes compressed after many years of use.
Keep the shiny side up!

The [interior] body foam may compress...or deteriorate from beer spills, etc. But, the channel foam ('scrim' foam) just disappears and becomes powder/dust from UV ray, body heat, and ***-sweat .
I kept my 40 year-old seat body foam pieces, because there was nothing wrong with them. But, I restored the seatcovers with new 'scrim' foam for the channels. When done, the seats felt just like the 'new' '74 I bought and the [used] '68 I had owned. If you didn't know what the 'new' seats felt like, I'm sure seats with new covers (and/or body foam) would feel "different".

Here.. Look at the covers we just installed a few months back... They don't look like they are over stuffed and they feel perfect.
