Any advice for 1977 power steering
I plan on replacing the power steering control valve and cylinder on my 77. I have looked everywhere from auto zone to the major restoration Catalogs I am a little confused on the quality of the parts any one have feedback on their own experience or suggestions? Thanks

I cannot recommend Bairs.com since they are not a paying vendor but I can't tell you not to check them out either.

If you have leakages, fix them. And, since your cylinder and control valve are functional, my suggestion would be to buy the rebuild kits and new hoses, then rebuild them. You have to remove them anyway. Once they are out and cleaned up, it's a simple matter to rebuild them. Search the Forum archives for Jim_Shea procedures and cross-sectional diagrams.
Note: The cylinder does not disassemble, except for the seal pieces at the 'rod' end and the ballstud. You need to get the rebuild kit that includes a new ballstud. Often, a vendor rebuilt control valve will malfunction...because they are [apparently] never tested after assembly. Rebuild your own--you are certainly more careful than any entry-level assembler would be.
