Default Tom's 1350 31 spline rear spindles.

Hi everyone, This is my first post on this forum. I am fixin to set up a pair of Tom's 31 spline rear spindles and want to find out if any of you folks have set the bearings up with preload or with 0.001 to 0.002 clearance? Just currious

I set mine to .0005"-.001". I pulled them apart this year after running them for many years to repack bearings. Everything looked perfect.

If you got the longer studs. you might need to chamfer the brake rotor holes or drill them larger to get them to sit down over the shank area. Depends on stud.

Use good grease. The first time I used Mobil 1 red and it still looked great. I went back with Royal Purple which I had available and I'm sure it will do fine also.

Otherwise you can just forget them and feel a lot safer when you drop the hammer!

Yes..mine are slip fit. Made the task of relubing them this year pretty uneventful.
