I bought this wonderful matching numbers 1972 454 4 speed. I have had a few things I have had to repair replace etc but the the Tachometer needle is broken for some reason,I ordered a replacement I was just wondering if its a huge job to pull the dash out and replace the needle?
Maybe I should go ahead and buy a new Tachometer?
Has anyone pulled the C3 dash out and how hard is it?

I have a 79 vette and i just replaced the tach needle, it was easy to do, just pulled if off and slit the new on. The new one goes on only a certain way.

I replaced the face on mine a while ago. Not hard- but PITA. I used a mini tool that looks like a pickle fork. Put something behind it and slowly lift it off.

While you are in there you might as well change the light bulbs.

Search the forum for dash replacements. There are some great write ups.
