Default 350 upgrade questions

hey guys I am getting ready to pull a 350 crate motor out of my 79 vette even tho it only has about 8000 miles on it, i want to boost her up a little and have several questions. I just starting looking at some heads and to be honest I have a somewhat limited bankroll.....lol.....here is 1 set I was looking at and just wanted some input...http://www.gmpartsdirect.com/results...umber=12558060....also I read somewhere about manifolds and clearance issues??.....any suggestions on this also...Thank you in advance

Car craft did a budget head comparison, all heads under a thousand. What size bank roll and how much power?

I have iron Vortec heads on my GM Performance 350 HO. I don't have any clearance issues with the [intake] manifold, but I did need to use a drop air cleaner base to fit a 14x3 air cleaner under the stock '80 hood.

Find a good set of headers that fit, install them first then see Whatcha got left for your budget. Plan according from there.

http://sdparts.com/details/scoggin-d...er/sd8060rakit
and
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/HRS-CL113215-10/ Will cost you $1600 and change.
Recurve your distributor and make sure your Vac advance is working, rebuild your carb, set it up properly and make sure you get full opening on the secondaries and proper A/F ratio.
Likely most economical total power increase you can buy for a 350 crate and it will fit under your hood guaranteed.

http://sdparts.com/details/scoggin-d...ter/sd8060akit
and this:

Should bring you in under budget and be a good match. I would spend the extra for a roller myself.

Holy moly!!!!! That's a big, fat discount on a Voodoo cam! Get 'em while they last!
