Default best Sawzall blade for cutting trailing arm bolts?

What make and model of blade is KNOWN to work cutting the stock trailing arm bolt? What tooth count do I want?

I am going to the home despot to get blades and need to know who has had success with what?

Thank you for your help.

John

Lennox blades I believe. The 18 -24 TPI should work well. Use a cutting lube on the blade while cutting.

Try Lowes then, or your l;ocal electrical or plumbing supply house should carry them. I work for Lenox and have for 28 years now. Yes the finer tooth blade works fine. Either a 14 or 18 tooth works the best. The Lenox Gold is a little more money but will last longer than the standard Lenox blade. These are coated blades. Try to get the 9 inch and if these are a little to long which they can be grind off the end to the length needed. The 6 inch is a little short sometimes. Definitely use some type of cutting lubricant. Anything is better than dry.

Honestly done right I have cut 4 of them with one blade. Like any other tool if it is abused you can kill it. I would get 2. Better safe then sorry you did not pick up another one.

Very common mistake. I have been lead to the heater/AC units in many buildings when I go into some accounts. I say I am not the heater guy but the saw blade guy. I usually get a red face and an apology.

Can you give me any tips or advice to ensure a one blade experience?

Without question be sure to remove the shims to gain room to make your cuts an enjoyable experience.

Any brand blade will be fine they are only like grade 5? Metal blade will cut it like butter

unless your shims are rusted together so badly that you have no choice than to cut through them also..... I went through two blades per side.

Lennox GOLD - only.

The regular Lennox just went round in a minute.

Milwaukee "The Torch". I cut a few inches off the blade to take out some flex and made it easier to get in there.

Lenox Gold. Try to use the slowest speed possible to keep the heat down.
