Default Can the 4L 60 Transmission (4 speed overdrive) be installed on a 1980

Can the 4L 60 Transmission (4 speed overdrive) be installed on a 1980 Corvette, 350 Turbo 3 speed automatic? The car runs great, shifts smoothly with no hesitation. It has a crate engine with about 25,000 miles on it. The thing is this... the car RPMs at 3k do go 65mph.
It seems like it needs another gear. I'd like to drive at 65-75mph without that annoying high rev hum.

Thanks.

Either variant of the 4L60 (700R4/4L60 with hydraulic valve body) or 4L60E will fit.

You will need a custom crossmember, shortened driveshaft, TV cable + adapter for the hydraulic trans or a TCU for the electronic trans. You'll need a torque converter lockup kit as well for the hydraulic setup.

If you want to manually access first, you'll also need to grind a detent out or purchase an aftermarket detent kit for the shift plate.

The TCC lockup kit will include a brake override so that the TCC unlocks when you hit the brake pedal.
