I need to work out the little details timing cover, distributor gear, pushrods, etc
My car has a later model 880 block that's setup for roller cam, but has a flat tappet version in it now. I'm swapping on vortec heads with .015 gaskets, a roller cam (XR276HR I think), 2400-2800 stall tq converter, performer rpm intake and holley carb. Also upgrading the fuel pump (still mechanical).
my questions:
when I buy the new timing set, should I get a torrington bearing or bronze thrust bearing style?
Am I going to need a different timing cover for a double roller timing set?
Do I need to swap out the gear on my distributor?
Stock length pushrods ok, even if I use some harland sharp roller rockers?
Anything else in the details I need to be aware of for this swap?

I may be wrong ,, but if it is a 1 piece rear seal block it is ready for a roller cam . A late model dist will have the right gear and a double roller set will fit behind a stock timing cover

I dont have any, but search push rod length see what that gives you

You will need to use a pushrod length checker to establish correct length. Check intake and exhaust.
Likely need a melonized dist gear.
You use a step nosed cam and the factory lifters, retainers and a double roller timing set is fine.
