Default 69' dash installation

Trying to put back together a 69' corvette that I did not take apart. upper dash pad,all instrument cluster and left and right dash panels are ready to be installed along with console. what sequence would be preferred to install these panels to make the job as easy as can be. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks Charlie

Install the upper dash first because everything screws to that.
then I would install the speedo dash, center gauge then the right side, then finish the console, then the little pieces on the center and column.
I hope you already installed the air vents, kick panel vents and all the heater stuff.

this is just the way i do it, others will see it differently.
i put the center gauge panel in first, then the drivers side dash with the speedo and tach, then the passenger side dash. i put the upper dash pad in last. the only reason i do it this way is that i can reach behind all of the other pieces when the upper pad is out. it makes it easier to put wires in position when assembling. you can also get to many of the bulbs and speedo & tach cables this way. you can see behind the panels too.

It's also easier if you remove the steering column.

Keep the AIM handy. I work from left to right: driver's side, center cluster, passenger's side. Resist the urge to attempt to force things.

Here are the instructions for removal.. just reverse this and you'll be fine.

The only thing that needs changed in this is file is the fact that we remove the steering column before we do anything. The reasons are 1) it makes the installation way easier. 2) It will keep you from damaging your driver side dash pad. When the dash pad is loaded with teh speedo and tach sitting it on top of the steering column to install can crush the collar made into the pad that goes around the column.
