Default OT-TPI Conversion 67-72 Chevy Truck. Fuel tank?

Has anybody seen a TPI or LT1 conversion in a short wheelbase 67-72 Chevy/GMC truck? If so what fuel tank did you use? Can you fit a 88-99 SWB late model tank or does the rear suspension come too far forward? Thanks if anyone has done this.

go to http://www.chevyduty.com I know that you can use a Blazer tank that goes behind the differential. I sold my '71 GMC about a month ago.

I am unfamiliar with the tank that is in it but you might be able to get a sump welded on the bottom of your tank.

Thanks!

tank that is in it is behind the seat. Don't want a hole in the floor that big.

I purchased A tank from A local salvage yard out of A 72 blazer and all the plumbing. I havn't installed it yet because I havn't decided what direction I want to go on the filler cap assy. There is A very informative site located at http://www.67-72chevytrucks.com they have A great forum that will help. Click on BOARD in the center of the white section that will take you to the forums. THere is A individual the name he uses on the forum is FUEL CELL GUY he builds custom tanks. this is what you will need for that application using an electric pump. There are also some newer LT1 as well as LS1 engines in these trucks. Alot of big blocks.

OK, thanks again. I am leaning towards trying an 87 tank. I think there is room outside the rails. 87 is the last year of the 73-87 style and it was throttle body injected. I used one of these in my 83 when I converted to TPI. Just wanted to see if there was something better out there.

Markdtn, how did the 87 saddle tank fit your 67-72?
