Default 69' leaking fuel lines

I have a 69' with a fuel leak in line at the crossmember on right side of frame rail. is there a way to change out fuel lines with the body on the frame or is the best way to splice it together? Surely someone has run into this problem before. Thanks, Charlie

i had a leaking fuel line on my 76 years ago. i just cut out the bad section and spliced in a piece of rubber fuel line for a quick and easy fix. you could also use compression fittings and splice in a new piece of steel line.

Thanks, I think the compression fittings is the way I will go with a section of new line.I talked to Paragon tec. and they said the body has to come off the frame in order to replace full length of line. Who ever thought GM would build a car that you would have to go to that trouble to replace fuel lines. Charlie

The stock fuel lines were meant to last the life of the car. The car was never intended to live 40+ years.

if the line started leaking, other pinholes will follow shortly, replace it.
the line can be replaced on the car, not easy , but not impossible either.
avoid the splice, if possible, gasoline and fiberglass, can make 1 heck of a fireball !

you will need to remove mounts on the passanger side, and slightly lift the body,
be sure drivers side bolts are loose also. good luck !

So.... as you can see, the true answer is that you need to either lift or remove the body. Can be a lot of work! Something I too need to address on my 69 but not looking forward to it!
