Default poly bushings vs.rubber bushings

I'm in the process of rebuilding my front suspension. I purchased poly. I hope I didn't make a mistake with them. I know they are durable. But,I know they have a reputation of squeaking.

Use a little bit of grease on the sway bar bushings. That should do the trick.

There's no rubber bushings on my vette anywhere and not a squeak. I used Energy Suspension Formula 5 Prelube.

All poly as well. No squeaks. Superior steering response and feel to rubber, imho!!

It will certainly tighten up the front..... but the ride will be harsher over bumps and road imperfections. If you don't mind that, you'll be OK.

The roads in Australia are appalling compared to the USA.
I replaced mine with rubber throughout front and rear.

the only place I have poly is on the strut rods in the rear on my 82 and I am rethinking that, because it is my "dd". On the highway, it is great, but local driving with not so good roads, you will feel it. One time I put poly on the front shocks on a C3, went around the block and replaced them with rubber, they were that "bad" for everyday driving.
Alot depends on your age, how you intend to use the Vette, and especially what type of ride and handling you are looking to accomplish. Even if you purchased the poly, you can always send them back and get rubber. The rubber will probably last for another 30 years or so, and you will probably enjoy the ride much better. But then again it depends on what your intentions are....
I know I may go back to my original struts on the 82 and just replace the rubber bushings................................ .........Tom

Squeaking poly is binding poly.

That said, when properly lubed it's fine for CA's, bars and such, as long as you're prepared to do the periodic maintenance, but I wouldn't use it for TA's or camber struts which inherently move in 3D's by design. At those two points I'd either stick with fresh rubber or step up to sphericals or heims, depending on where are your priorities (comfort v performance). My $.02

Poly if handling is more important than ride comfort.
