oil leak on first start of season
I started up my car today (1974 Stingray) for the first time since December. Started smoking from under the hood, noticed oil leaking...quite a bit, when pressing gas pedal. The puddle is right under the oil pan. Were no poblems at all last summer so i am wondering if this has something to do with it setting in the cold garage for 3 months? Any advice is helpful, this is all real new to me.

Burning Brakes
oil filter on tight? have someone check for loose bolts around the oil pan gasket. also check the power steering hoses; trans; radiator; brakes; etc. cold weather can be tough on these cars, even when not being driven.

If it was smoking, look at your valve cover gaskets. I do not suspect that the oil pan gasket would have put oil in contact with anything hot enough to smoke. Cork valve cover gaskets frequently leak after sitting. Just my $.02worth.
