[Pics] Got New Tires today. Firehawk Indy 500 255/60/R15
My Firestone Firehawk SS20's only had ~2000 miles on them. They were replaced due to defective "tiger teeth" used at the security checkpoint at work. All vehicles with damaged tires got free replacements. Firestone no longer sells the Firehawk SS20's so I got the Firehawk INDY 500's. They are the exact same tire only the lettering on the sidewall has changed.
These will do the trick until I can afford to upgrade to 17" wheels and tires in the future.

"The only tire ever authorized by the Indianapolis Motor Speedway to display the world famous Indy 500 name and logo" !?!
I was going to just post a picture of the tires but decided to show the whole car. I was going to wait until it was painted before posting pics on the forum but what the heck, I'll just post more after I get it painted. I've just about replaced everything on the bottom side. Time to start work on the topside.
Hey Ed T, recognize this center cap? It's the best lookin' one I got!

Great Pics :) It helped me since I'm still trying to decide what size I want on mine. Bet you were less than pleased to be sitting on suddenly flat tires.

The pics of the car in the water are very cool! I think you could make some even more incredible shots by playing around with different angles to make it look like it is really floating. Bring you swimming trunks and swim out with a cheap camera and get pics from water level 50 feet away and stuff like that. I am just learning about cameras now so, just excited to see cool angles of stuff.

Very nice!
And you live in Tolar? Im right down the road most of the year at TSU. Where is that spot you took those photos. I have a number of friends who would jump on a photo op like that!
Love the tires by the way. :)

Mike;
SS20's aren't made anymore?! Hmmm. Either tire rack or discount had
both the SS20's and Indy's look so similiar. The Indy's were $1 less...
Hope they are as good or better.
Defective tiger teeth - Funny. Did they fix them already? I need new tires...
Nice water pics!

Everybody: Thanks for the compliments. Digital cameras really do a great job of hiding really tired paint, especially when you reduce the pic size. :D
PonyGirl: Fortunately, "suddenly flat tires" wasn't the case. But your right, that would spoil your day!
Maurice: Your right, I could have got some better shots if I would have ventured out into the deeper water with the camera but I didn't think of this location before I left the house. As it was, I ended up with soaked shoes  After I have the car painted, I will try to get a little bit more creative.
Sonic: Take a look at the these three maps. It is really easy to find and only about 20 minutes from TSU. Let me know if you need better directions.
adam: I think that you are right about the Firehawk still being available. That's what I wanted but the tire store told me that they could not get them any longer and that the INDY had replaced it. I definetly wanted the Firehawk but at that moment, I just said "I suppose they will have to do". They're OK I guess. They are definetly the exact same tire. . . At least they smell the same when you roast 'em! :D :jester:
