Heads are off at machine shop getting a valve job. Got them for $100. Valve job quote was $200 as base.
Did you get them for 100, and then have to pay for the valve job? That's still a pretty decent score, 300 bucks for nice, freshened up vortecs. Are they machined for higher lift? It's supposed to be risky going higher than .450" with the stock vortecs.

Im pulling the engine on the 14th and will start sanding and washing the bay, block, and heads for painting. Engine will be red w/chrome and bay is all black. Car is black on black. Ill upload tons of pics sometime.

Your cam lift fits the specs of your new cam? I don't even know what that is supposed to mean. Do you mean the cam lift fits the specs of your new heads? Speaking of which, the vortec heads are known for having a great intake port, but kind of a weak exhaust port, so a split duration cam is typically used with the vortec heads.
