Default C6 replica wheels on vette.... car sits high what is the cause

I installed new C6 replica wheels in black chrome finish (17x8.5) front, 18x9.5 rear on my Corvette. As you can see the vehicle sits way high. What is the cause of this? I have a pair of coil springs with half a coil cut off I plan to install and will tweak until I get the stance I want in the front and will use longer bolts to lower the back. I went with the staggered wheels to give the car a rake. With that said, what is the cause of the car sitting high leaving such a gap from the bottom of the fenders to the top of the tire? Also can someone do a photoshop with the pic so I can see what it should look like?

what size are the tires? The stock tire would have been 27"+ in diameter.

The car must have sat high prior to the wheel change? Any suspension changes at the same time?

Anyway, here is a VERY generic "photoshop" (Microsoft paint!).

..I've got an actual set of C6 wheels I'm going to be running when my build is complete. Should look good if you get the car down quite a bit.

Did you drive around the block yet? It looks like the suspension hasn't settled after being lifted.

The tire size change compared to the stock tire increased the distance between the top of the front tire and the fender by about 1 inch and in the back about 1/2",

Installed them in july. Should have settled by now. MelWff: The gap between the top of the tire to the bottom of the fender is 3" in both the front and back. Will cut springs to get the front fender 1" above the top of the tire and use longer bolts to tweak the rear to get the rake I desire.

The front could come down a little, not much, but I like the way the back end sits. To each his own, right? Maybe you could just tell people it's a Gasser.

I liked the raked look. Just lower the front a bit. Make sure front springs are seated in the upper pocket.
