Default Show me your welded and gusseted frames!

I want to weld and gusset my frame as per the power book, but I have a few ideas of my own too. Show me what you'e done with your frame.

Wow, you really have done some nice work on that car. That's a little more serious than I'm planning. I'll bet that is a lot stiffer and helped the handling a bunch. I do plan to gusset up the area aroung the differentiall and remove the rubber mounts, raise the diff, and weld plates in the mount that will bolt solid to the frame.

these are just a few that I have pics of, I also did both sides of the motor mounts and on the frame extensions to the cross-member;

No Howard, I have not gotten it back in the shop yet. Looks like it may be in towards the end of next month.


I just added some more pics of the chassis reinforcements and post-wreck pictures.....

I don't, but I have friends with both mig and tig welders. One of them has a welding and fab shop.

Just wondering you guys doing all the welding to your frames, are you tieing down the frame rails prior to doing some of the major welding or just welding them as they sit on 4 tires?

I'dlike to do it on a frame table, but being I don't have one, I'll put it on stands and measure to a level floor. I'll take it to a frame shop afterwards if it seems off too much.
