I have longer 1/2 bolts all around and spacers to clear the trailingarms, don't remember the thickness though

I have been rebuilding a '74 coupe for about six yrs now...I am nearing the point of buying tires and wheels...is there someone on here that can give me some advice on what will fit this yr model. I would like to go with the torque thrust II wheels...18 x 8's up front and as wide a wheel and tire on the rear as I can without modifications to the suspension...any help would be appreciated...

Hey OCB, any pics of the car with the tires on? Love those wheels!

If you're willing to relocate the parking brake calbe mount from the side of trailing arm to the top you can run 18x9-4.5 backspace on all 4 corners. You can run any width you want in the rear with a 4" bs. T

Are you looking to keep the tires under the wheel openings or you don't care if they stick out past the fender? You can do a search using "18s".
Lately there have been a lot of owners pushing the envelope with getting up to 10" wide wheels all the way around. With 18s the trailing arm is the limiting factor in the rear. There are C3s running 18X9.5 with 275/40s in the rear with 5" backspace with no issues. Don't forget all these cars are old and they can vary from car to car. Always best if you can test fit or if a shop has the wheel fitment tool that mounts the tire and places in the wheel well to determine width and backspace needed for proper fitment.

On my 70 I have 18x9.5 with 5-1/2 BS on all 4 corners.
1/4 spacers all 4 & relocated both parking brake brackets to top.
Rival S 275/35/18's all 4.

I'm thinking what I might need to do is order the front wheels and tires. Then I can use these to look at what I can put on the rear. The car is at the point where all the suspension is back on but the motor and tranny are still out. Do you know what the factory back set would be for stock wheels? I don't mind the rear tires sticking out but if it is going to affect the ride then I would want them up under the fenders.

The 1969-1982 C3 15 x 8 rally wheels were 4" backspace

Sorry no. Those photos were taken with a set of 15" X 8" during the fit check with the new Wilwood brakes. The wheels fit perfect with the OEM calipers however the tolerances were to tight between the wheels and the Wilwood 6 piston front calipers, so the wheels were exchanged for a set of 17" X 8". The new wheels are on the shelf waiting for the frame off resto/mod of the entire car.

These are 18x8 version of similar wheels (Team III LT-III wheels) 245x45Rx18 supersport tires.

sfsvettes that's one race ready Corvette. There's lots of wheel and tire under that one and of course a great stance.
