I should have thought about the longer lug nuts like you got.

I have a deep socket but it's not a 1/2" drive like my torque wrench and I don't seem to have an adapter either. The deep 1/2" impact socket I have won't go down the wheel's opening to the nuts.

Gee darn a trip to the tool store

My Ridler wheels (my street wheels) have a similar issue. You can buy wheel nuts (even for larger 12mm or 1/2" studs - I have 12mm ARP studs fitted) that have a smaller 3/4" hex, makes life much easier.

Edit: Excuse the filth and crummy pictures, but:

With ARP studs, open nuts:

Standard studs, closed nuts (still 3/4"):

Another solution for those tight fits is to use spline lug nuts, which also offer a degree of security.

Ha! I bought those in 2002. The 295/15s were literally the last 2 in the USA. One came from TX the other from Cali.

Default Newbie, first post

Finally got my 72 convertible on the road after the better part of a year, and I could not have done it with out this forum. You guys are the best, and I am so appreciative to have such a resource. Just when I would get frustrated and pissed, I could always find a post that solved my problem. Well here she is, with a new 360hp SB, Torq Thrust II 17x8's on the front, 18x9's on the rear.

That's impossible. I bought the last 2 in 2008. I had someone do a search for me and after a month, they were sitting up on a shelf collecting dust. I can't remember the date code but they were 2 or 3 years old.

My GT II's (on front) are from 2005. I have Mastercraft Avenger GT's on rear (from 2014).

Will you let me know what tire size you used on the front & rear. Also did you have to do anything to allow for space or did your wheel combination fit in the standard wheel well. Thank you I like your setup

Nitto 275/40ZR18 and 245/45ZR17. Absolutely no clearance issues. Purchased from Wheelsforless.com. $1,400 all in. Good experience.

Can someone tell me if 18x10.5 wheels with +22 offset mounted on 295-45-18 tires would fit a 68 with the L88 fender flares?

I've attached a few pictures for reference, the tires in the picture are 265-50-15.

Thanks

This is a 18x11 wheel with 5.0 in offset on a 6t8. No clue what a + 22 offset is. T

Rear tires are 26.5 inch diameter.

Hmmm based on that pic they should fit, my fenders come out way further than those.

Im not sure what the +22 means either. There’s no back space listed in the specs, just offset

Took a pair of Global West offset trailing arms (and then some) to get it done, but...

Boyd Coddington Junkyard Dog wheels. 17x8 front with 245/45 tires and 18x10 rear with 295/35 tires.

Okay so the spec of the wheel is 18x10.5 with 6.62 back spacing. With a 295-45-18 tire that puts the diameter at 27.3" and the width at 11.6". The current tire which is 265-50-15 sits at 25.4" diameter and 10.4 width.

Given these specs, any input on whether they would sit inside the fender flares?
