I like this look a lot.

My rears are 18X10.5. They don't stick out, but there is that gap from top to bottom. I have lowering bolts for the rear, and am getting ready to do that. I measured these against my stock wheels and both have the same height. So I am a little lost as to why these seem to have so much more room.

I have to be careful with mine, because if I lower the front too much I will definitely have ground clearance issues with the Le Mans front clip.

I would like to know where or how you got your Le Mans gas filler. I have been looking for one of those, or a way to make one, for years

Default Help

I have a 1968 vet. The hood doesnt have hard points for the hood latches. I was thinking of installing hood pins. Is this a good idea and is it even possible. My automotive knowledge is limited. Thanks for the help.

I just changed my OEM tires and wheels to 18x8.5 SM Nitro wheels and 255/45R18 Yokohama Avid Envigor tires. The handling improvement is fantastic and surprisingly the ride is even better. They fit great with no rubbing or modifications. I had read some reviews that the Yoko's where noisy but I find them deathly quiet. The people that complained about noise must have them on backwards as they are directional.

Stunning!!

You ordered those with 4" backspacing? Because they are a half inch wider I'm just curious how that works out

They actually have a -6mm offset (1/4"). They fit with no mods at all.

[QUOTE=clane10;1587425406]Here is my 77.

The post reads 18x9's in the rear but the tire you have listed is R17. What size rim is used in the rear? Looks same size as front.

What brake calipers are you using?

Do you like the rear suspension system you are using?

Very nice clean look. I am running traditional Cragars 15" wheels but want to upgrade to a modern look and tire including brakes....

I decided to save the wear and tear on my Coker repops so I bought a set of 17x8 and put 235/55's on them. I selected those as they are 27" like the originals and they fill the gap nicely.

I have edited my post with the correct tire size. The rear wheels are 18x9.5 and tires are 18". They are indeed an inch larger than the fronts but it is hard to tell from some pictures.

I do like the rear suspension. I have not driven it hard yet, but the adjustability is great and I think it adds a great look to the rear end.

The brake calipers are just stock (stainless steel sleeved with o-rings). I used a flapper wheel on a grinder to smooth the casting marks on the face then painted red with caliper paint. I used some c5 corvette caliper decals on them for a different look and clear coated over the decals with several coats.

Thanks for the compliments. Your vette looks great!
