1978 L-82 Qjet Gasket
I'm looking to buy a rebuild kit for my original carb. Several sites offer them and each site has a different looking gasket in their kit than the one I have.
My current one looks like this but its for a L-48 it looks like:
http://www.parts123.com/parts123/yb....5Z50000050G~~~
Auto parts stores carry these two:
http://www.parts123.com/parts123/yb....5Z50000050G~~~
http://www.parts123.com/parts123/yb....5Z50000050G~~~
Does it matter? There are some channels under the carb that my current one seems to cover. Were these important?

This guy on this site has the exact same gasket as me and shows the problem with the one in the rebuild kits. I'm trying to avoid this.

The correct carb base gasket for your carb/engine (assuming you have the correct/original carb and intake) is the ¼” thick open-plenum gasket that looks like this:
There are gaskets with minor geometry differences, but functionality is the same: Some gaskets have a "tab" area in the forward center area of the opening, covering part of the bottom surface of the carb. It is irrelevant if this area is covered or not since all the pasages are fully exposed to manifold vacuum whether the area is covered or not: In the link you provided in your previous post, the 2 gaskets pictured by the guy will perform and run exactly the same - it doesn't matter.
Why don’t you save yourself some hassle and just go over to your local NAPA store and buy the correct kit, gaskets and parts rather than doing the Internet Mystery Shopping thing?
If you have the correct/original carb, part numbers are as follows:
Kit 2-5795A
Float 2-442
Pulloff 2-4832
Filter 23052
