Default Power steering leak.....from where?

Almost ready to get the car on the road and just need to figure out where the power steering is leaking from.

The PO told me the system developed a major loss just before shipping and so didnt have time to fix it.

Filled the system with PS fluid started the car and she started leaking straight away.
The pump looks dry but Im having trouble seeing if its the lines or the hardware.

Will get the front end off the floor and remove the drivers side front wheel for better access and give it all a clean but looking at these pics, any ideas as to what may be the issue?

Guessing from the pictures only, it looks like the high point of the drip is the hose above the the cylinder. I just replace that hose on my 69, the high pressure feed to the cylinder.
I think GM could have made it a little longer as there is a lot of bend on the rubber hose where it is crimped to the metal tube, when you go lock to lock.
If it leaks that bad, you should be able to clean it off--spray brake cleaner or carb cleaner, etc.-- then see for sure.
Careful with the chems.
Availible everywhere.

Wow... this could be my car! Looked just like it. Haha.

It does look like that top hose is suspect but if you end up replacing the control valve like I had to... here's a great video to check out. '77s are a little different but it gives you a pretty good step-by-step.

I would look for the highest spot that shows oil leaking and check that out first. It probably drips all over everything under that unless the oil is being blown around.

Cleaned every thing up and started the engine. No obvious drips for a few mins. I did notice a very slight leak out of the very small hole in the center of the valve where the 2 lines cross. After shutting down I noticed fluid build up and then start dripping from the crimped ends on the high pressure hose from the pump to the valve. Looks like a new hose kit is about to be ordered.

Any tips on fitting new hoses and are any new washers of any kind required?

Thanks.

The high pressure hose from the pump seems to have most of the strain and then fail the most. If the others don't leak, they may be good for years.
Actuall, once you drain the pump, the hoses are not bad.
But, Big But here, be sure the 2 cylinder/control valve hoses do not get switched. Replace them 1 at a time is easiest to avoid this. Do not stick your arms through the steering when starting the engine for the first time, because if the hoses are switched, you could break a arm with the violent steering wheel movements.

Sounds to me like you may have a leak in more than one place. Behind where the lines cross over the valve should be a dust cap. Underneath that cap is an adjustment bolt that neutralizes the flow through the valve and keeps the front wheels straight. If the seal behind that bolt is bad, the fluid leak would start behind the crossed lines and proceed to the back of the valve towards the centerlink, just like your pictures show. If that's where the leak started, I would consider rebuilding the valve as well as replacing any lines that may be bad.
