Default Taller than L-88 hood options..

I am midway through a 25.3 cert (6.5 ET) 69 vette build. The engine is a 960 HP, 572 with a TALL single plane intake. We are lowering the engine 1 in, but cant get it any lower than that and have everything line up like it needs to.

I am considering a 4 in. L-88 hood, but may need something taller than that. I know Vanacor is no longer in business

Any ideas?

Thanks,
John

John...it seems like this is a job for fiberglass mat and resin. I have fabricated up hoods many times on projects that are quite different than what GM designed the hood(s) for. This is where the "angles of the dangles" come into play...it more than likely will have to go up (obviously) and then back towards the windshield.

^.....yup, could be. That thought has crossed my mind more than once. I really like the lines of an L-88 hood.

The "theme" (whatever that exactly means) of the car is what would a 69 vette factory drag car look like if Chevy built one in 1969, so something that looks VERY similar to an L-88 is the direction I am leaning. The 5 in. Vanacor L-88 would have probably been perfect.

Not a bad looking hood, but I really want something that looks like an L-88 hood
