200R4 is in but now the "fun" starts, help!

Have you talked to the people who built the trans

Not yet, that is my last resort given that they are over 8,000 miles from here.
I decided to press on and fix a few other issues while I gave the trans problem some thought. Had to replace the ignition switch as the start position no longer worked, fit the speedo drive (had to drop the cross member to do this as there is very little room). Still to fix the power steering pump which decided to start leaking while the car was at the shop:-(
I just fitted this recond pump in December and it is now leaking around the valve, its also almost as noisy as the original one so pretty unimpressed with it so far!

Okay so no reply from the trans builders in Florida, decided to keep moving so installed the painless wiring kit for the converter lock up, added a delay valve to the vacuum switch and tidied up some other wiring. Took it out for another test drive after work and things are much improved, the car feels completely different from before especially on the open road where it seems to turn over about 1650 rpm at 60 mph with no lugging or other issues so far. Still could be slightly quicker upshifting into 2nd at low speed but I quite like it that way. Haven't tried full throttle yet so will have see what happens on next run.

Yes it will, but you have to use the correct gear, which depends on your rear ratio....get hold of a GPS and drive it at say 60, and take a reading off both devices, that GPS is dead nutz on...so you calculate the % you will need to change the count on the gear in the trans tail shaft....

Fingers crossed you can get the correct ratio without having to change the drive gear. In a 200 r4 the drive gear is on the governor so you have to drop the pan to change it like I did.
In the end I changed the diff to a 3:55 ratio and this works well with the o/d but now I've installed a more aggressive camshaft I would have preferred the 3:70 ratio.
The valve body that came in the "stage 2" 200 4r had a 1 - 2 shift like someone was hitting the floor of the car with a sledgehammer and upshifting even at full throttle was at less than 3000 rpm. I ended up fitting a modified valve body and governor from CK performance that fixed these issues, so all up changing to the 200 r4 turned into quite a mission.
