I have to agree, plus today's engines make far more power than what came in a mid 70's to early 80's C3 so these engines generate more heat and a high quality high flow aluminum pump is a primary component in a well thought out cooling system. My new 355 makes 417 HP and 400 ft/lbs TQ, only the baddest of the big blocks made more power than that.
And again- a stock pump is more than capable of dealing with it.
