Buy the new pump from your local parts store...they do have parts stores down there domt they? It will fit
Only two pumps to consider, the short, which is correct for a Vette and the longer pump which is wrong used for passenger and light trucks
Don't worry about the shaft size...most will have a bushing to fit if your fan accepts a large shaft pump......

I have to agree, plus today's engines make far more power than what came in a mid 70's to early 80's C3 so these engines generate more heat and a high quality high flow aluminum pump is a primary component in a well thought out cooling system. My new 355 makes 417 HP and 400 ft/lbs TQ, only the baddest of the big blocks made more power than that.

I just bought a Dewitt's radiator, if that doesn't sufficiently do the job I'll be buying a Stewart aluminum water pump...
