Default My car is at AR Headers now

I was able to trailer my car to AR headers yesterday for fit of the LS headers. Going with 1 7/8 pipes and a 3 inch exhaust system. Steve, customer service but does a lot more, Phil is the fabricator and Nick the owner all assured me it will be done right. I have full confidence this will be an awesome system. I'll keep everyone informed on the progress and when it is done.

After this the car should be drive able. The interior is still a mess and not finally wired but I want to get it onthe road. It will have to take a trip to Tune Time performance for the computer. Then break in then back to TT for dyno runs and final tuning.

Both Steve and Nick worked to get the headers to fit my LS3 and I was very happy with the turn-out. It would have been nice to be close enough to trailer my car to them but living outside of Atlanta, that just wasn't happening!

They have a big to do board and in the right hand corner is C3 LS swaps. Yours mine and CWerner names are up on the board. These guys do first class work and I'm sure when done it will be right.

I did hear that Tune Time was there Saturday. That will be my next stop once the exhaust is done. I was at their show and they said bring it on, we love a challenge.

Great news, with the car in house they should have no issue getting dialed in.

Hopefully you'll be driving soon, I managed to put around 75 miles on mine this weekend.

We're you able to get the tach issue corrected?

That is my next project is the gauges and interior. Once I get the car back I will get the gauges working then off to the tuners. Then I hope to put a few miles on it.

When I bought my vette the tach didn't work also... Traced the wires, and after the shop put in the new motor they didn't 'extend' the tach wire to reach the new distributor location... Added a 6" extension , plugged it in , and it works fine ! Dunno what your issue is, but I hope it's something simple for you!!

Mine is a little different. LS3 motor with an aftermarket tach. So there is not dist. The tach lead comes from the computer.

Gordon, the car looks outstanding.

We will have it on the lift soon. Look forward to seeing the build progress.

It's been the talk of all visitors this week, we have a new SRT8 300, C7, 2014 SS, CobraJet Mustang on the lifts in-work, but all inquire about the little Red Corvette.

I see nothing wrong with that, it's an American icon that just flatout looks too d##n good.

I hope you opened the hood. That is where all the work has been so far. The interior is a mess at the moment. Thanks for the compliments.

Not to threadjack....but can I assume that the AR headers for the C3 will work on a C2?

Gordon, Steve,

Can't wait to see some pics. I'm really glad I waited for your car to be able to get up there and let them use it as a "bumper car" prototype.

Steve,

The tube extension from the collector to the transmission cross-member is something else that needs to be replicated for my fitment. If you use that as a template, with the extensions running through the cross-member frame, it will be usable to most anyone doing a swap. My 2 1/2" Magnaflow exhaust system is a slip fit design and it connect right at that point. Bottom line is all exhausts that are on a stock frame will need to go through that location, unless they've changed out their cross-member. Even then that location is pretty common with the off the shelf cross-members that are available.

Chris

And I'm betting they will work on a C2.
