1979 Courtesy light timer not working
my courtesy lights do not go off after the 30 seconds. I has thought the timer delay module was shot and replaced the board with a new one from Corvette Central.
If I remove the module the lights go out when the doors are closed, go on when the headlight switch is turned fully to the left etc etc
Any thoughts?

All I can say is what I had with my 78.
The module was bad and my lights stayed on all the time.
I pulled the fuse - thus no interior lights.
Then, I took the 2 white wires that went to the module - they have their own plugs - I unplugged them and plugged them into each other.
Now my interior lights work just as if there was no module - come on when the doors open, and go off when closed.

without the module my lights come on when the doors open, and go off when closed. I haven't changed anything with the white wires so would that imply they are shorting on there own?

Do the white wires go to the modules harness, or did someone else connect them together perhaps.
If they go to the harness, I don't know.
Maybe someone else knows.
As a side note, 98% of the time I don't want my lights delayed - and when I do I can leave the door open a little or turn them on with the switch. And when I left the car, why would I want them on?
Maybe just me but I like it much better not delayed.

The white wires go to the modules harness, I had another look at the plug that goes onto the timer and the five wires (labelled on the connectors as ABCDE), the three wire element (CDE) looks fine but I have some scorching on the two wire (AB) .. any idea what would happen if the two wires (white & blk) are crossed in the plug or one of then is not connecting to the Timer board?
RE timer, I just like things to work like they are supposed to

It has your name on it would you have any idea on how the courtesy lights would behave if the module is not getting bower? When I turn the ignition switch on the lamps stay on so I was thinking maybe a problem with the module power or module ground.
Thoughts?

The module connector plug has five wires (A- WHT, B-BLK, C-ORN, D-WHT, E-PNK/BLK)
does anyone know what wires should be 12v when the module is disconnected, light switch not in "click position" and doors open? I only get 12V on the orange wire
