Broken Bolt

Broken Bolt
Started putting my new spoiler on my '71 tonight. I knew that one bolt or both bolts were going to break off on the bumber. Only one bolt broke. Does the spoiler make a differance in temp. when driving on the highway? I'm putting on the black plastic type for that year car and not the larger on that has to be painted.

If your talking about the front spoiler, yes it does make a difference. Depending on the car, on some it's mandatory to have one or you'll risk overheating at speed. Your in Florida I think your gonna need it.
I'm not sure how the '71's are mounted, so I can't offer a simple fix except for extracting the busted bolt.

Ok, I know the bolts you';re talking about. The ones that fasten into the lower portion of the vertical "bumperettes" or whatever they're called. Hmmm....
Do you NEED the spoiler? You don't NEED it if yoru car is cooling ok otherwise. I'd check to make sure you have all of the proper radiator seals in place and everything of that nature. I just put a stock chin spoiler on my '69 this year since it's been running kinda hot and it definitely helped. it directs much more air up into and through the radiator.
