Correct Fan Clutch for a 72 350 w/AC ??
Hi, does anyone know what the correct Fan Clutch would have been on my 1972 Corvette? It's got a 350, non-LT-1 engine with AC. The build date was Nov 71.
I was told that a Schweitzer style, 7.25" diameter fan clutch is correct.
I was talking to a person who specializes in restoring C2 & C3 corvette fan clutches who said that I should talk to an NCRS judge to be sure, as he thought my 72 should have a 6" diameter Schweitzer fan clutch. What's right?
Thanks!

Hi JH,
The base engine non a/c in my 71 has a Schweitzer 7-1/4" fan clutch; part number 3916139 for the whole assembly…. clutch, fan, and fasteners.
The AIM indicates a different part number for an a/c car….3937771… but there's no description of the clutch in the AIM or my Parts Book.
So?
Regards,
Alan
There are some 72 sb a/c cars here so perhaps someone will speak up.

Melting Slicks
"dog dish" is what you are looking for or the Eaton model GM parts replacement.
