Default Are small block 2.5" factory sidepipes an option

I have been trying to determine correct sidepipe manifold combo for my 68 with 492 angle plug heads. Seems my safest bet is ram horn exhaust. I was thinking about McJacks redesigned ram horns with 2.5" collector. Right when I think I have it figured out I hit another obstacle.
I love the look of factory side exhaust but hate the thought of resticting exhaust flow. My intention was to go with 2.5" manifold collector and 2.5 inch pipes. Does anyone make a 2.5 inch small block pipe for the factory style side exhaust?

I've seen some custom systems that would fit the bill. There was a company in IL (Allen's?) that made them. I'll check my notes and see if I can find something more usefull.

I never noticed that. I would just cut off the BB pipe and weld on a small block pipe.
They also offer the option of a 2.25" muffler without any pipe. Weld on your own.

any reason you don't want the Hooker style side pipe header exhaust. I have them along with the 492 heads.

I like the 69 style side pipes. I have known my car since about 1979. My fathers best friend had it and it always had 69 style pipes on it. When he passed his son removed them years later iIpurchased the car and want to bring it back to how I remember it.

I have found the combo that will work. McJacks exhaust manifolds with Sweet Thunder oversized pipes.

Default 2.5 manifold

1962 through 1965 HP small block Corvette had 2.5" exhaust manifolds. You can buy the from Paragon and from other vendors. They should fit the C-3 because the frames, for the most part, are the same for both generations of Corvettes. Make sure the accessory holes are there for your application. Jerry
