Diff and TA's installed... first drive in a month... yeehawwww
Back on July 20 the 73 went back up on jack stands. I pulled the differential and trailing arms and sent them off to Van Steel to be rebuilt.
While they were gone I ordered up some new tires from Tire Rack and got them mounted. Even though I have 15x7 wheels in the front and 15x8.5 on the rear, Bubba had put 225x70's all around  (before I took ownership). I now have BFG Radial TA 235x60's in front and 255x60's in back.
Tonight I finished up re-installing the differential and trailing arms and related items.
I started 'er up and went for a test drive. Man oh man... it was like driving a new car. I only drove a mile or so. I can't believe the difference. I am so happy it'll be days before anyone can wipe this smile off my face.
I've been working on this car for almost 3 years now. The TA and Diff complete the rebuilding / replacing / reconditioning / restoring of all things mechanical and electrical on the car (except for the AC compressor... soon).
The interior has been completely redone also. All that remains is a spot or two of body work and a good paint job.
Next stop... Carlisle... and I know I'll still have this smile on my face...:)
See ya there

Nice ! - quick work !
I bought 2 new TAs (Van Steel) a couple years ago. Since I couldn't get the
TA bolts out, I swapped all of the parts from the new TAs onto the old ones,
leaving the old bushings and steel in. :nono:
I never realized the "new car" feel. :cry
