Default Oil dipstick tube removal, Goodwrench crate.

Just checking, is the dipstick tube on the Goodwrench engine an interference fit? Wondering if I can simply pull it out. If not, any tips?

When replacing is it a tap fit using small hammer and block of wood?

TIA.

Depending on the style of engine it is probably a little different than what the car originally had. The zz4 engine have the dipstick pressed in, but they also have a retaining bolt. You will need to check for the bolt and if you have one remove it. Then you can just pull it out.

Yep. Mine had a retaining bolt through a small bracket about halfway up the tube. Removed it and wiggled the tube back and forth, then pop! Came right out

Some here (bolt, wiggle 'n pull) and reinstall was press fit, didn't need a hammer at all (which is pretty surprising for a C3 )

Mine also had a O/Ring installed. I replaced it, but I still used a dab of permatex on it. No hammer or wood needed.

Thanks all. Will check for the bolt and give it a wiggle.
