Default New Sun Visor? How is it tightened?

My '68 Vette didn't have sun visors when I bought it, so I ordered a sun visor and the rods to mount them.. Now, when I just insert the rods into the visor and mount it, the visor will hang down. How is the visor tightened so that it will not hang down. Is there any parts that I'm missing? I bought the correct visor for 1968 and the correct rod set for 1968. I don't see anything on the visor that can be tightened???

68 visors have small ferrules and screws on the visor for tightening the fit on each rod. One year only.

69 and up visors use metal crimps for this purpose.

I'm not sure about the configuration of the new visor you bought but here's what I did on the original sun visors in my 68 after reading about others doing it.

Pull the rod out of the visor. You'll notice a metal sleeve inside there. Put a towel around the outside of the visor and crimp that metal sleeve tighter with a pliers or vise grip until it is as tight as you want it. Put the rod back in, mount it to your car.

I bought 1968 visors but don't see any screws to tighten it.. However, I can see a threaded hole inside but there is no hole in the vinyl where the screw is supposed to go.. The visor didn't come with the screws.. Now I guess that I have to find the right size screw

I will try that if I can't get a screw for the threaded hole in my visor..

Thanks!

Thanks.. Looks like I need to figure out what size of screw I need to fit into the threaded hole in the visor. Like I said, the visor did not come with it but I can see the threaded holes inside.. so I just need to punch a hole into the vinyl and then screw the right size screw in..
