My crossfire build
The regulator is for really for the two-pod TBI... so one of the mounting ears on the pressure housing gets filed off to fit so it fits the CFI injector tower.
VAFPR on TBI is sometimes seen as a band-aid for TBI injectors and the range one might need for enough VE and proper fueling. If you look at my VE table for low speed, you'd see that my VE range is pretty broad. I tried running without a VAFPR and I was running out of VE (100% VE) around 4,800 rpm and higher.
That's not say I was running out of fuel- but instead I was running out of injector so to speak to meet the fueling needs and injector pulse range of my engine. I've probably butchered the right way to describe things, but the net is when I was at 100% VE, not enough pulse at idle, and plenty of duty cycle remaining at WOT... the VAFPR helped get the VE where it needed to be because I could run different fuel pressures at different KPAs with different Base Pulse Constants.
