Coolest Cars @ Carlisle (pics)
I took some pics of a few cars that really caught my attention. Here ya go:
Not sure what this is, Lambo maybe, but it looked good...
Here is the Lingenfelter 427 twin turbo. Can you believe 0 - 60mph in 1.97seconds, and a 9.24 @ 150mph! That's what 800+HP will do for you.
Mallet racing had this one decked out to look like a... croc?
Gotta love the boat. (I don't think the Grandsport really had a trailer hitch)
And of course, the 50th anniv body that will never be (at least from GM)

The only one I like is the Silver C5. And is that a white flag on the back of the yellow one? Thanks for the pics!

That boat is a MasterCraft. They did a special "Corvette" edition one year but that one looks like a copy. I thought they only offered it in all red. Plus, that boat didn't have a rear deck and the exhaust wasn't original either. I like it but I can understand why others may not. It's pretty loud!
I think it also had the corvette engine in it for whichever year it was.
We used to have an 82 MasterCraft and it is basically the same engine that is in my '69. When I drove my car home after buying it, it was dark and raining and I had dejavu. It sounds exactly like the boat....straight pipes, no muffler, all fiberglass. Gotta love it!

That yellow one is a Greenwood Daytona body kit. In 1980, Greenwood built 4 Daytona twin-turbo cars. They did 180+ but looked like Mad Max's Corvette.

I kinda liked the yellow one, all except the back wing, it's alittle too much.
Thanks for sharing the pics.

Thanks for the pics.
I think they should retro the rims and mirrors for that retro vette. A nice set of chrome mirrors and old style rims would make it look much better. Give me the engine out of the Lingenfelter 427 twin turbo, you can keep the big grey blob. :U

I'm with twinnie on this one. We saw 2 (of 6 currently) of the retro 53's at Monterey, and they loose something up close. I think it's the size, because these things are HUGE! Nice job on the conversion, tho'.

Nice pictures. The yellow one is pretty weird. I really dig the Lingenfelter car.
