Who Sells the '82 Fuel Pump Relay?
I spent several hours today searching for this online. Came up with Corvette Central, but they want $35. Are they the only source for these relays?
EDIT: Since starting this thread, I have discovered that the '84-'87 relay is electrically identical to the '82. The connector is also the same, so the existing plug on the '82 harness will work. The mounting ears are different on the later relay, but I don't think there's really a good reason to mount it back in the original location. The later '84-'87 relay is available everywhere, even local parts houses, whereas the '82 appears to be a discontinued product. Thought this might be helpful if anyone gets in a bind and can't find the original relay.

It's not. I searched at least a half dozen Vette parts suppliers this afternoon. Most either don't list it, or they're out of stock. I started at Eckler's (discontinued) and didn't find it until I went to Corvette Central. Wilcox is one I didn't check.
I'll probably get it from Wilcox, but I have to say, even $27 seems a bit much for a little relay like this. I might wire in a standard 30A automotive relay if there's room. Then I can get a replacement anywhere.

FWIW, I think there's a good possibility the relay used for 1984-89 is electrically the same as the one used for 1981-82. The same plug fits both. The later version has different mounting tabs, but that seems like a minor issue to me. It's available practically everywhere, and it's cheap enough to buy two or three spares and throw them in the glove box. I'll report back after I compare the two relays up close...

It looks to me as though the supply of '82 relays might be running out, and I don't mind spending a little time to update this part. I'm 95% sure the '84-up relays will work, so I added one to an Ecklers order today. If mounting is an issue, I can probably mill a bracket (I have a small CNC mill in the garage, which is one reason the car won't fit). I'll compare the two relays electrically first, and if there are any significant differences, I'll order the '82 from Wilcox. Thanks again!

Where?
Any half way independent auto parts store ....its not a Vette only part
Standard Ignition has them, price around 16.00 dollars
The parts store in the avatar behind my Yellow Vette allways stocked them as they fit from 82-87 Chevy`s

None of the parts houses near me even list this part. All they show is the style for '84-up. That includes O'Reilly, AutoZone and Advance. I did find the Standard brand '81-82 relay that you mentioned at CarParts.com for $16.78. That's a better price, I'll order at least one for a spare. Thanks!
I am pretty sure its the same part number as the horn relay (that is mounted to the right of the brake booster). Glad you found one.
I had a fuel pump relay fail back in 1992 when I was coming back from the coast 175 miles away. My engine would quit every 10 miles or so and then after sitting for a few minutes it would start and go another 10 miles. Altogether it quit about 20 times before I finally got home. I bought two them and moved the relay to the top of my battery so I could replace it a lot easier if it fails again.

Nope, Out of Stock (they were one of the vendors I checked two days ago). I found someone else the other day who was selling these for (I think) $4.50, claiming it was a manufacturer's closeout. Needless to say, they were also out.
Thanks anyway!
Thanks anyway!

The AC Delco part number is #14039681 or #212-306.
Google "Genuine GM Timer And Relay (14039681) For GM" and you'll find one.

You know, it wouldn't be too difficult to make a PC board and build a solid-state replacement for this. Power FETs are cheap now, and they have MTBFs of thousands of years. If this turns out to be a trouble area in the future, that's where I'm headed.

I've got this covered for now, but I did search like you suggested. It doesn't return a big variety of hits, and several clearly state that this is a discontinued part. Availability of this relay is obviously limited at this point to whatever quantities vendors have in remaining stock.

Contact New G.M. Parts.Com @ (877) 498-7278 and order one. The current price is $21.47 while their stock lasts.
