Wow, Mr. Fleming23, that is a truly inspirational video. Looks like a BLAST!
As far as the original question:
I raced a Mercedes Benz C63 AMG the other day. That's a 3.7 second 0-60 car. 6.3L monster engine in a little package. Bad little ride.
I rolled down my window to chat with the guy and let him know that my launches are AWFUL...they are.
As I knew he would, he jumped off the line (auto, traction control, etc.), but to my extreme joy and pleasure, he crept to about a car length ahead of me and I kept up very nicely. No question...he had me...but it wasn't an embarrassment. I'll take that as a "win" in my 45 year old bucket of bolts.
I then took it upon myself to try and find a 'formula' for launching my car. Seems that a solid launch (not a clutch drop, but a solid burnout-inducing launch) from the 3,500-4,000 RPM range induces enough wheelspin to keep me in my power band. The car squats, and launches like a bat out of hell. Yes, the wheels spin, but they bite as well and everything is moving well by 30 MPH.
I'm going to try this at a stoplight sometime soon and see if I need to make any adjustments.
Once I get it figured, I'll drive around for a few days for no purpose other than to find that C63 for a rematch.
That, my friends, is the extent of my 'beating' my car. That and LOVING to wring it out to 6,000 RPM as many chances as I get.

My girl loves a good spanking. She'll happily do burn outs, as I've done scores of them. At our Shop, located in an Industrial Center, that's all we like to do! 500 feet of empty alley in the back and there's plenty of rubber laid down!

I was smiling ear-to-ear.
Nothing more satisfying than to give a $80k+ car a run for its money with old-school muscle.
The fact that I kept up as well as I did probably baked his bacon a little.
--I've been fairly even with a stock C6 Z06.
--I easily dispatch stock C5 and C6 Corvettes.
--I was neck-and-neck with a modified 6.2L "new" GTO.
--I've beaten a fairly stock Camaro SS...stick car, so he had the same launch issues I do.
--I've BEEN slightly beaten (1/2 car length to 100) by the same Camaro SS after he did $20k in modifications.
--I haven't found a Mustang that can run with me. Yet.
--I can't even tell if the Honda/Subaru/Mitsubishi sorts are even trying...they're so far in the rear view mirror...tough to say. They're squealing tires and stuff, but they may as well be standing still.
With those as my frame of reference, I'm pretty pleased with how my pump-gas straight 350 (no bore or stroke) stacks up.

Safety Car
I drive mine fairly conservatively because it has eaten 1 rear end that I fixed and will eat it again if i beat on her. I also had to put cooper cobra tires on her to make sure I get wheelspin when i am horsing it.

A sports car especially a hipo one deserves to be driven like one...beating on a car means different things to each person but if in turn you maintain the car what's wrong with driving it and even "beating" on it at times, posing gets old and boring....

The use of "beating" is very subjective. I would imagine that most owners on this forum do their best to maintain their cars, but drive with the hammer down every once in awhile.
Gotta clear the cobwebs from the 750 Double Pumper every once in a blue moon.

my 71 with the 5 speed and 400 hp / 440 tq mine is more of a high speed curser. So I drive it a lot.
Last summer on the interstate a few "new" sports cars blew by me, so I decided to catch up as I had just passed 1000 miles on the break in and the road was empty. . It was fun to see their face when I appeared in the rear view mirror.
I turn 2000 at 80 mph.
I am waiting to see a C3 with a MONGUSE license plate.
AS INFO:
(Mongooses also have receptors for acetylcholine that, like the receptors in snakes, are shaped so it is impossible for snake neurotoxin venom to attach to them. Mongooses are one of four known mammalian species which possess mutations in the nicotinic acetylcholine receptor that protect against snake venom.) They kill snakes...
