my saturn wagon handles better, light and softly sprung well dampened

Here is another chassis I had started on. You can see more of the mounting points with the body off. Quick change. Lost interest.

Her name is 'Shop Dog' and she came to our shop, out of the desert about two and half years ago, one hot July afternoon. She was emaciated, dehydrated, had big fresh scuffs from being knocked down by some car or truck and had been severely abused.

We couldn't touch her for three months, just kept feeding her and locking her in the Shop at night. Eventually, she came around and became the best dog, I ever had. Very smart and intuitive. For two years, I used to drop her off at the Industrial center about 7 AM, to wander through the shops. Everybody knows her. She'd wait for me at lunch time and then again, after work. I started taking her home after too many people tried to catch her. She still cruises the shops on the weekends when I'm there all day long.

Cruising for treats.

Kisses.

That's a heartwarming story. Great job on your part- you've been duly rewarded with her loyalty.

Wow front page... I don't know what to say

Yeah I probably beat on mine, but I bought a non-original non-perfect car because that's what I wanted. Something I could hot rod, break, modify, and enjoy.

Case in point:

After the last rally race and my 70 mile commute on rough two lane country blacktop... the four bolts that hold the rear camber rod bracket rattled out!

The rear suspension feels really wierd when that happens!

I'm looking at building custom rear suspension (custom trailing arms, coil overs, hemi-joints) this is very interesting!

Always enjoyed this Rally C3. Starts at 2.08 on the clip. Think his LSD is ready for a rebuild.

That is a very inspirational video!

I, too, bought a non-perfect pre-modded C3 for $1000 that I saved from going to the wrecker. No guilt, I can do whatever I want.

You know what: In the context of that video, the C3 is a HUGE car.

Seeing that video gives me goosebumps, though. That looks like SOOOO much fun. I wouldn't go QUITE that fast, but it'd be fun to play around like that anyway.

You are correct it feels large when running a hillclimb. Sometimes over a crest you would lose sight of the road because of the hood scoop and fenders. Some of the places we ran were like a lane and a half. When we got the car set up, after chasing our tail for a year. We were the fastest car with doors. Only modified formula cars would turn faster times. Here is a picture at way over a 100mph.

Guys its been fun sharing passed memories. Hard to gracefully turn loose of what drives us as you age and your health fails you. Your ticket gets punched. Still have the race cars. Cannot bring myself to sell them.
