I'm trying to decode wiring under the center console on my 68 convert. The car currently has manual windows. But- the console appears to be an aftermarket one with the cut-outs for the PW switches still not cut out. There is the wire shown which appears like the wires going to a pw switch and then this relay at the front of the console area that looks like a pw relay. Does this look like pw were originally on the car? or are the relay and wires for something else?
Hi RA,
I'll start….
P/W cars do have a relay under the shifter console…. I don't know if that's it or not. It may be the wiper relay.
The cable shown in your second picture is the fiber-optic cable from the tail-lights and license plate lamp.
All e-brake consoles had the bracket that allowed the power window switches to be installed if the option was chosen.
Regards,
Alan

fiber optics! well, now I feel really stupid. I'm looking right at the little connectors on the ends and it did not register with me what they were. The PO removed the lens, but I have had a replacement in my parts box for two months. That's good since now I know the PO did not switch out the PW for manual windows. Thanks.
