Default 73 seatbelt warning light and buzzer won't go out?

Just got a set of rebuilt original lap belts for my 73 convertible. Connected everything turned on the key and the dash light came on and the buzzer came on, but when I pulled on the belts they didn't go out??.? On the 73 you only need to pull up on the belt about 10 inches or so and everything should go out. If I pull up on the e- brake one click everything goes out. Is it a relay or wiring problem? Hope the belt switches aren't bad. These came from Charlie at seatbelt city?
Let me know what you guys think!
Thanks,
Jim

If you didnt have the problem before the belts were done, call Charlie.

That's the problem. The original belts were removed by a previous owner back in 1992 and replaced with aftermarket belts with no wiring. The seatbelt warning system hasn't functioned since before then. So I don't know where to trouble shoot first.
Thanks.

This is the only 73 seat belt diagram that I could find and it's useless since I can't read it!
http://www.vetteprojects.com/bmv/mis...tte%201973.pdf

Any chance that you have a better diagram in your 73 service manual that you could post so someone can figure out what the problem is?

Thanks for reply and wiring diagram. I'm pretty sure I have the problem solved. The problem was with the passenger side seat bottom switch. The switch needs installed between the foam and on top of the springs. I had it attached to the bottom of the spring, thus making it malfunction. I'm just not sure if the wire in the attached photo should be making contact so when the weight presses down on it the buzzer activates until the belt is pulled up. I get back after it tomorrow. At least now I know my wiring and the Charlie's retractors are working correctly.......Thanks again!

Well done!
Seat belt buckle switches are normally closed.

Seat sensor switches are normally open.

Don't think any of the vendors sell this switch. You'll probably have to find one on eBay. There's one on there now from a 74 camaro. Switch looks the same, but the wire connector may need changed. Ebay item number is
251563109391. Worth a try?

A couple of wiring diagrams from my library to help once you find the replacement switch.
