It's coming out of the harness under the windshield actuator it's a green wire and short ...

I think you mean wiper door and that would get you 68-72. Your green may be the connector for the wiper detent switch.

Is this an A/C car?
IIRC, my 70 has a pigtail like that and uses an extension wire from there to the A/C compressor.

No ac and it does not go to the door switch but could it be that they provided the wire for the ac even though it's not a ac car

Hi f,
I believe the long pigtail for the temperature sensor in the right side head connects to the harness at that point.
The pigtail has the additional length because it's a resistance wire so shouldn't be cut or shortened.

The temperature sensor, to operate the temperature guage, is on the driver side. On the passenger side is a temperature operated switch which is a part of the Transmission Controlled Spark system. This system was usually disabled and or eliminated by most owners.
