Thanks. I found that tire pressure wasn't a problem as it hooks really well for stock and I was running on a track with low altitude and cool weather. I thought 14's would be the norm and was surprised at what I got. No tuning, no weight reduction (spare in the holder) and 220 in the seat. 5 gallons of gas. I'm thinking if I let my wife drive, as much as it hurts, I can get a bone stock factory 69 in the twelves.

Best is 12.8 @ 108 in street trim running on Michelin PS2's at the time. Car is very easy to drive with 3.08 rear end and a 5 speed manual.

Getting Vintage A/C installed this winter since the factory one bit the dust, and still has power windows and a CD player.

Thanks Jim. Nobody would guess your car runs in the 9s either (or is it 8s now?)

Well not me... I took my car to the track tonight and made 9 passes. Best I could do was a 13.80.
lots of problems tonight....here's the list of excuses....
-It's my first time to the track in 37 yrs
-Street tires 255/60/15's lots of spin off the line...from pretty much idle-1000 rpm
-can't shift the five speed worth a $hit went 2nd to 5th on several occasions then back to 3rd
-last 3 passes had a major bog in 2nd around 4500-5000 rpm...not sure what was going on...put it in third and would pull to 6000RPM thinking hot fuel issue.
-3700' density altitude
-did I mention I had lot of fun....sure did

Best ET 13.80
Best 60' 2.03
Best MPH 103.4

You had a great time and didn't break anything...now you're hooked again!

I'd say it was a great night!

Tell us about the car?

2.03 60' isn't terrible on those tires for first time out.

11.35 124.7 mph 1.87 60 foot ..
SBC 427 Sequential multi port injection , 4L80e , 3.92 rear ( now gone and I put a fab 9 in her)

I did this on cooper cobra tires , from an idle no hole shot and I hit the rev limiter on the 1-2 shift. ( This was my first time ever on a race track) ohh i also had both windows down Bahahahahhahah ,,

Car can be driven by anybody with a license. It is a daily driver and I run 93 octane fuel. The track run was done by driving 40 miles getting checked in and running the car with zero adjustments or changes. I then drove home .

My goal is 10.9 or better and this year with the fab 9 and the 4L80e mod for launching at max stall I am confident i will hit the ten's .

Here is a video if it works ( that was a Z06 behind me lol )

Dont know yet by summers end i will
10 sec capable motor
12 sec driver

Being as ive never run this one before Im expecting low 12s til I get familiar with how it wants to leaves. 11s at 120 or better Im happy with.
should be realistic

My old Z spun (badly in 1-2) its way to 110 low 13s at famoso wouldnt even be a race compared to the mulletmobile.

Precisely why I don't like 5 and 6 speed manual transmissions, that 2 3 shift you often have trouble with. . I'm thinking about an A833 chrysler 4 speed with a gear vendors. People say it won't fit but I want to see for myself.
The good news is your car is going to be pretty quick considering your list.

Yes, they are the aluminum Cragar SS's that were available for a short time when Weld Wheels made the Cragar SS's. Cragar sued Weld, so they had to stop making them using the Cragar trademark and rights. When I saw the aluminum SS's I jumped on them right away. Those particular ones were available only about 2 years.

Cragar now makes their own aluminum SS's which are chrome plated. I may trade for them soon.

I was hoping to be in the 12.9 range with my new upgrades this year . 355 ci , AFR 195 heads , Comp XE 288 HR cam , Vic JR intake and Quick Fuel 750 Q series carb . Best so far after nine passes this year 13.1 105 mph .
I know I have mph to be in the 12 second range just need to get my 60 ft times down to 1.8 instead of the 1.9 and 2.0 that I have been doing .

Give a bit of a run down what you have and how "streetable" is your car,
AC?
could about anyone jump in it and drive it around?
or
Is it an off a trailer on the track idea?

Thanks all.
Best so far was 12.64 at 110, I'm hoping to hit high 11's with the intake, stall converter and gear change.

I'm pretty sure it wasn't the trannys fault....just me being nervous, first time out in a looong time, and not having much practice shifting fast through the gears. On the other passes when I was focusing on shifting properly, I had no problems shifting at 6000 RPM. I also moved my seat up a notch closer and that seemed to help.

I spent most of the day today riding around on my lawnmower thinking of the things I need to do to go faster....Fix the bog problem, get a line lock, sticky tires, thinking I could get into the 12's..... I may just be hooked again

Don't be too quick to blame yourself those modern transmissions have very narrow gates making them more tedious to shift.if you've never ridden with a competant 4 speed shift driver in a properly set up 4 speed you have nothing to compare it too.

Default old technology vs new technology

Why is it that the 1.3L engine in my RX-7 gives a 0-60 time of 4.2 seconds and the massive 454 cu in engine in my 68 convert takes 6.5 seconds for the same speed? Amazing how technology has improved performance. 1.3 L rotary gives 424 rwhp, aluminum everywhere on the car gives 2730 curb weight, limited slip 4.10 rear axle, computer-controlled twin turbos, timing and fuel injection make the car faster and easier to drive. But........guess which one I drive the most? (It isn't made in Japan!)
