Kansas '73

My hood release cable broke on my '73. How do I open the hood to replace the broken cable?

Not sure on a 73 but there should be a hole below the wipers to access the latches to get it open..that is where they are on my 81. Hope this helps and I'm sure someone with a 73 will chime in. GoodLuck.

Kansas '73, the last time I answered one of these posts it was deleted. Some people are afraid the wrong people will see how to "break" into our vettes. That Mad Vette article showes a '78. The release is different for your '73. Email me and I can help you.

Take a look at the repair maual or the AIM to see the layout of the latches. You can feel the center pivot point and reach it.

Steve, I was checking out the info on how to use a screwdriver to open the hood, but on my 71 coupe it does not look like that at all. Any ideas or help would be great. PS My hood works but I would like to know just in case it happens! Tom
